About Mindwriter
Mindwriter is Ian Carpenter, a magician, mindreader and entertainer who works in the Bath and Bristol area, as well as throughout the UK and overseas. For the past 15 years, Ian has been using mind magic to entertain and enthrall audiences at magic shows, weddings, parties, corporate events and even in schools. He has performed as resident magician at Bath’s Revolution Bar and has also made appearances on TV.
In 2008 the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust awarded Ian a prestigious fellowship, which allowed him to travel to Las Vegas to learn from some of the best magicians in the world. He studied in a week-long masterclass with Jeff McBride and Eugene Burger, widely recognised as the leading magic teachers in the world, and was able to observe magic that you just can't find anywhere else. As part of the fellowship, Ian made a commitment to give something back to his local community, which he does regularly by offering free magic lessons to secondary school students in Bath.
